2026 Teen Takeover Policy Panel

The Nevada Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs hosted the inaugural Teen Takeover Policy Panel on March 13, 2026, aimed at establishing Boys & Girls Clubs’ teens as thought leaders on issues directly affecting their communities. The event showcased six Youth of the Year teen finalists from across the state and four policy makers discussing teen-specific policy priorities including community safety, social media influences and developing robust in-state college and career opportunities. The forum provided an open and honest discussion for young people to speak with policy makers about issues impacting their day-to-day lives while creating an opportunity for them to influence change on these issues.

We appreciate State Speaker Steve Yeager, State Assembly Member Tracy Brown May, State Senator Rochelle Nguyen and Nevada Supreme Court Justice Patricia Lee for lending their time and expertise on the panel, and Nevada Legal Services’ Executive Director Alexander Cherup for moderating an insightful discussion.
